DMS KNIGHTS TAKE 1999 RICE LAKE HONORS
RICE LAKE-The DMS Knights of Fargo, North
Dakota swept five straight wins without a loss to capture the
championship of the 21st annual Rice Lake Invitations Men's Fast Pitch
Tournament.
The Knights opened play with a 3-2
triumph over H.I.S. Construction of Houston Texas and sent on to down
the Denmark Dukes 7-2, D.C. Financial of St. Paul 6-0, and Evansville
Bowl 4-1 before posting a 7-0 whitewashing of D.C. Financial in the
first and only championship game.
The St. Paul team had defeated the
Portage Classics 4-3 and Sioux Falls Chiefs 5-3 before falling to Fargo
in semi-finals action. The Financiers rebounded with three consecutive
victories: 4-2 over Houston, 9-3 over Sioux Falls, and 4-2 over
Evansville, to advance to the championship contest.
